Android users can join the Facebook alpha program

Back in June, Facebook announced it was rolling out a beta version of its Android app, allowing anyone to sign up and provide feedback on unreleased features.

Using the beta since then, I can say it’s actually a pretty stable version of Facebook for Android with the improvements and features it provides being an added benefit.

Then last week, Facebook announced yet another testing program for its Android app, except this time the app is all but guaranteed to break. As originally reported by AllFacebook, the Facebook for Android Alpha Testers program was announced on Facebook’s Engineering blog.

The process to sign up and take part of the alpha is identical to that of the beta.

You can be a part of the Facebook alpha by first joining the corresponding Google Group. Then, opt-in to the alpha in the Play Store.

After downloading the latest alpha build, Facebook suggests turning on automatic updates as it plans on updating the app a few times a week. Doing so will ensure you’re always running the latest version.

Are you going to take part in the alpha testing, or is having a reliable app more important than helping Facebook out?
